Posts 19 points Thursday
The rookie trailed only Jerami Grant (34 points) for high-scoring honors among Piston players in the contest, and he did so while knocking down over half his shots for the second straight game. Shooting efficiency has been an issue for Cunningham -- his field-goal rate sits at 37.1 percent on the season -- so the strong two-game stretch is an encouraging sign. With per-game averages of 14.1 points, 6.3 boards, 4.6 assists, 2.1 three-pointers and 1.2 steals, Cunningham has been one of the league's top rookies this season.

Posts double-double in loss
Stewart took only seven shots in the contest, but he made six of those attempts and grabbed 14 boards en route to his second straight double-double. He also swatted one shot for his fifth consecutive game. Stewart rarely takes more than 10 shots in a contest, so he isn't likely to emerge as a serious scoring threat anytime soon, but his rebounding and shot-blocking abilities make him worth rostering in most fantasy formats.

Drops 34 points in loss
Grant was the only Detroit player to score over 20 points in the loss, and he finished with his fourth game of 30-plus points on the campaign. The forward was especially effective getting to the charity stripe, as he logged season highs with 14 attempts and 12 makes from the free-throw line. Grant is showing that last season's breakout campaign was not a fluke, as he is posting per-game averages of 20.1 points, 4.8 boards, 2.5 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.8 three-pointers and 1.0 blocks this season.
